This aerodynamic bird can travel up to 1000km per day when feeding off flying insects such as termites, bees and flies. It lives and nests in mountainous regions with Alpine grasslands.It is normally present in swarms in either permanent populations in the Northern parts of Southern Africa or as migrating swarms in the Western Cape.
